What's the difference between a Doula and a Midwife?
Answer :
Doulas offer emotional, physical, and informational support during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. They support the birthing person and their family non-medically. Midwives offer medical care throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. Their main concern is the birthing person and baby. Both are necessary support systems! Whether you hire a midwife or not, a Doula is always necessary. How does payment work? Once we've had our consultation, and a contract has been signed, an invoice will be sent to you with details of the service(s) you booked. The electronic invoice allows you to pay through there. We do accept payment plans if you prefer not to pay the entire fee up front. However, if you do decide to pay the entire fee at once, you can receive a discount! Are Doulas for home births and natural births only?
Answer :
There are many Doulas who do homebirths only. However, here at The Life Experience Doula Services, we offer doula support no matter where you are birthing. We understand the importance of doula support in every birthing setting. Every birth is a part of nature's cycle, no matter the path or outcome. If you decide you want a medicated or unmedicated birth, homebirth, birthing center or hospital, vaginal or c-section...we still offer you doula support.
I have my spouse and/or my mother. Why do I need a Doula?
Answer :
A Doula is a support for the ENTIRE family! Whether you hire a Birth Doula, Postpartum Doula or both, a Doula gives the birthing partner more chances to bond rather than worry about the excess things. A Doula will also show birthing partners special tools and ways they can best support the birthing person.
